Confederate bond issued on November 27th, 1862 with serial number 642. Features at center a portrait image of Confederate Surgeon General, Samuel P. Moore, surrounded by personified images of Law and Justice. Signed by Robert Tyler, Register of the Treasury and printed by B. Duncan of Columbia, South Carolina. Corresponding coupon included at bottom in frame. Coupon features same serial number of 642 and is signed by E. S. Read. 1864 $100 Confederate banknote from Richmond, VA issued on February 17th, 1864 with serial number 31954. Features portrait image of Lucy Holcombe Pickens at center, an image of two Confederate soldiers on the lower left, and a portrait of Confederate Secretary of War, George W. Randolph, on the lower right. Engraved by Keatinge & Ball, Columbia, S.C. Pretty good condition: some overall yellowing/discoloration/spotting of pieces from aging, light creasing/folding present in all pieces as well, areas of fading in ink present on all, there is some scattered frame wear/scrapes/marks, and both frame and frame glass needs cleaning/dusting. 16” x 16.5” x 1”2.4 lbs.
